JOHN | STUFF

Well, the LP, namley 'POP:AURAL' is being delayed, maybe until next year unfortunatley. Keep checking and we'll give updates as we get them.

Ive been doing demo's for new N/C material, which is turning out really good. Very different to the stuff thats on the LP. Id say more edgey, not as poppy.

Tonights the night of the N/C/E.I.O.H show, which should be great fun....

NEW ELECTRICITY IN OUR HOMES E.P

Started recording with E.I.O.H yesterday for their new E.P, which will feature 4 tracks and be out on Modern Pop Records.

We had a 4 hour slot to record the instrumentation, which was a bit tight, but the best takes of 3 of the songs were recorded with 15 minutes left to go!

We recorded the vocals to two of the songs at my house, and have completed mixes of 2 of the songs (Some Marvals and More Minimal). They are sounding great. Very lo-fi with heavy bass and a really powerful sound, without it sounding vaugely rock.

2 more songs to go, then the E.P should be out in the summer. Keep checking their MySpace for news/shows and new tracks being added to the player.

JOHN TOUR DIARY PT 2

Well, much fun was had when we started the first date of our headline part of the June tour. We started in Newcastle, which was an ok show. Weve never seen so much rain ever!! We saw some friends which was fun, and the next day made our way to Scotland to play the 2 dates in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

There was a good turn out for both shows, and everyone seemed to be really into the new material from the LP. I had started feeling a bit ill just before the Glasgow show, which led us to cancel the next show, which was Manchester. We were a bit gutted about that because we were also having an aftershow at The Koffee Pot later in the evening, which was fun last time, but as far as im aware the show is being reshedualed for September.

It was a bit touch and go on our way down to London for the next show wether we'd be able to play, as i was feeling pretty rubbish, but we decided we'd try and get through it. It was a good show and we played a new song, an instrumental called 'Communique', which people seemed to have liked.

Last night we finished the last date, which was for Kings College Ball in Cambridge. It was quite strange, and their was free drinks all night. We did all get quite drunk. The set was ok, but the people dancing didnt really seem to understand what we were doing! People were slipping over during the set, which made us laugh!

I guess thats it really, we had a lot of fun, and thanks to everyone for coming to see us. The singles now out and available to buy and download, so go and do that now if you havent already!

See you all soon

JOHN TOUR DIARY PT 1

We did the last of our shows supporting The Sounds last night at the Mean Fiddler in London. It felt a bit strange doing a London show so early in a tour, as we usually end the tour with them. It was fine though...decent turn out. I also bought a new effects pedal on the day, so i had fun during the set with that!

The shows on the whole have been really good. Manchester was great, and it was brilliant to see so many of our fans turn up so early to see us.

Birmingham was good to, although i think we were converting, rather than playing to the already converted. I also nearly tripped over the monitor lead and feel over, and for some reason kept hitting the same tooth on the hard metal microphone!

The main support act to The Sounds, Goodbooks, are nice lads.

Its our Manchester radio session on BBC6 today, which is quite nerve racking, as it goes out live!! Were having a sort of aftershow tonight at The Koffee Pot too, spinning some records and the like, then off to Newcastle the day after. The story continues...

Ive been listening to :
Liars
This Heat

Ive been reading :
Nowhere To Run : The Story Of Soul (Got it for £1.99 in a book shop, its really good)

See you at the shows...
